Machu Picchu Pueblo is home to an excellent artisanal market where you can often find even better prices and selection than in Cusco. While some of the products offered are similar to what you will see elsewhere, others are quite unique. Among the many different items you will find include sweaters, scarves, blankets, rugs, jewelry, carvings, and much more. In some shops, the textiles on display are of the highest quality baby alpaca.
If you have some downtime after your tour of Machu Picchu, browsing through the market is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. As everything in town is so close, you can easily bring your purchases back to the hotel or hop on the train with them, as the station is accessed through the market itself.
