Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel respects the privacy of the users of our website, including other media formats, media channels, mobile websites or mobile or related applications (collectively, "the Website"). The following privacy policy of the company (Privacy Policy”) is designed to inform you, as a user of the website, about the types of information that the company may collect from you in relation to your use of the website. It is also intended to explain the conditions under which Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel uses and discloses that information, and its rights in relation to that information. Changes to this Privacy Policy are discussed at the end of this document. However, each time that you use the website, the current version of this Privacy Policy will apply. Therefore, each time that you use the website you should verify the date of this Privacy Policy (which appears at the beginning of this document) and review the changes from the last time that you used the website.

Users of the website in general

"Non-personal identification information" is information that, without the help of additional information, cannot be directly associated with a specific person. The "personal identification information", on the other hand, is information such as a name or email address that, with nothing else, can be associated directly with a specific person. Like most website operators, Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel collects non-personal identification information of website users of the type that web browsers, according to their configuration, can make available. This information includes the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the user; the operating system; the type of browser; and the locations of the websites that the user sees just before arriving, as well as while browsing and immediately after leaving the website. Cookies and Interest-based advertising

Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel works with third parties in order to monitor your activity on our website, as well as to provide important advertising from Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel and other advertisers on third-party portals.  

These advertising services use pixel tags (aka, web beacons), cookies and other tracking devices to obtain and store non-personal information about your visit to our website. If you visit our website through your mobile device, an advertising service may also collect the unique identifier of your device, or location, and may try to synchronize your visit to the portal through your mobile device with other visits to the portal.  

When relevant advertising is presented to you on other portals that use information collected from this portal, it is “Interest-based Advertising”, which must include a blue icon that will appear in the upper right hand corner to select advertisements. Keep in mind that, by rejecting this option, you will continue to see advertising, but it will not be relevant based on your travel interests.  

 

Social Media

We may provide you with the option to connect your account on the website to your account on some social networking sites in order to log in, upload information or to enable certain functions on the website. If you log in using your social media credentials, we may collect personal identification information that you have made available to the public on the social media site such as your name, profile picture, your cover photo, username, gender, network of friends, age range, regional settings, list of friends and any other information that you have made public. Once connected, other users can also see information about your social network, such as the size of your network and your friends, including mutual friends. By connecting your account on the website with your account on whatever social network site, you hereby agree to the continued disclosure of your information. We will not send any of your account information to the connected social network site without first disclosing it to you. Each social network can also allow you to establish privacy controls around your information on their system, and our collection of information will always adhere to those controls and permissions. This function is subject to constant changes and improvements on our part and each one of the involved social networking sites, and therefore the available functions and the information shared are subject to change without prior notice.  

We may use hyperlinks on the website that will direct you to a social network if you click on the corresponding link. However, when you click on a social add-on, like the Facebook “Like” button, the Twitter "tweet" button, or Goggle+, the add-on for that social network will be activated and your browser will connect directly to the servers of that provider. If you do not use any of these buttons, your data will not be sent to the add-on provider of the corresponding social network. For example, when you click on the Facebook “Like” button on the website, Facebook will receive your IP address, browser version and screen resolution, and the operating system of the device you used to access the website. The adjustments related to protection of privacy can be found on the websites of these social networks and are not under our control.  

 

Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Identification Information

Website registration

As defined above, personal identification information is information that can be associated directly with a specific person. The company may collect a variety of personal identification information from and about users of the website. We are updating our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GPDR) that became effective as of May 25 of the current year. This regulation is introduced in the regulatory reform carried out by the European Union with the objective of guaranteeing high standards of data protection and adapting them to the digital reality of the current world Data protection law in Europe requires a “lawful basis” with the objective of guaranteeing high standards of data protection and adapting them to the digital reality of the current world.Our lawful bases include:

How we may share the information we collect

We may share your information with certain trusted third-party services to help us provide, improve, promote, or protect Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel´s Services (like when we partner with payment processors, or use services that help us manage our ads on other sites). When we share data with third-party services that support our delivery of Sumaq Hotel’s Services, we require that they use your information only for the purposes we’ve authorized, and that they protect your personal information at least to the same standards we do. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy will apply to all the information that we have about you and your account. Users should regularly check this page to see any changes to this Privacy Policy. The company will always publish new versions of the Privacy Policy on the website. However, Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel may, as determined at its discretion, decide to notify users of changes made to this Privacy Policy by email or otherwise.
